Gilded Wood is the one with real gold leaf. The frame is hand-carved from solid wood, scroll by scroll, and then leafed rather than painted, so the surface has the faint, broken shimmer that only leaf gives and that catches a chandelier the way a painted finish never will. Leaning in a taupe living room, it looks like it has been in the family for a while.
The profile is 5 cm wide and 3 cm deep; the glass is 4 mm Optiwhite, clear and true to colour, so the leaf and the room both reflect as they are. Every mirror is carved, leafed and assembled to order in our workshop in Wrocław, Poland, which is why the carving differs slightly from piece to piece.
Fifteen sizes, from 50 × 100 cm to 100 × 180 cm, and it hangs either way: upright as a full-length mirror in a hallway or dressing area, on its side above a sofa or a long sideboard. If you want to know how leaf ages compared with the gold-toned finish of our Timeless Gilded Wood, ask us; the honest answer is that leaf gets better.
